My first 4 articles for Eat Drink Films….

I love goals ~ end of the year, mid-year, whenever. They propel me forward; and sometimes one needs this type of motivation… When I began this blog in May of 2014, I knew that I wanted to feel vaguely confident writing before I returned to UC Berkeley in January 2015 as a visiting scholar in the anthropology department. So the stars were aligned when I was asked to write a first piece for the on-line magazine Eat Drink Films, and then another and another… Below are my first four articles, each of which is a full 1500+ word piece… You can check them out quickly through the visual essay aspect of them, or just go to the interviews with the chefs, winemakers, filmmakers or photographers I spent time with collecting their stories; or take some time out to read through the pieces themselves… They have all been a labor of love. My goal for next year ~ the art of brevity;)

ENJOY!

and HAPPY HOLIDAYS ~~~

PRUNE: THE RESTAURANT, THE BOOK, AND THE PHOTOGRAPHY OF ERIC WOLFINGER

“He wrote me: I will have spent my life trying to understand the function of remembering, which is not the opposite of forgetting, but rather its lining. We do not remember, we rewrite memory much as history is rewritten. How can one remember thirst?”                       ~ Chris Marker, Sans Soleil
